Cass – Electronic Press Kit

Representing Kansas City hip hop with dope bars and fine rhyme.

BIO

Born and raised in Kansas City, MO, Cass bleeds KC Red and Royal Blue. His hometown pride pulses through every track on his debut album, Hip Hop Head. It plays like a lyrical origin story, tracing Cass' journey from a young kid making music and rapping in his teen years to stepping fully into the spotlight. After years of guest appearances on other artists' albums, Hip Hop Head marks his first full statement as a solo artist. Cass sums up his approach with characteristic bluntness: "I only care about one thing … f**ing up lyrically, anything near me that moves." Produced in collaboration with his childhood best friend, JPZ — a rising star producer with credits alongside hip hop legends like E-40, Richie Rich, and Tech N9ne — Hip Hop Head launches listeners on a rocket ride through the annals of hip hop history, evoking the frenetic energy of Kubrick’s infamous final scene in Dr. Strangelove. The album features standout contributions from JPZ on "Medication" and battle rap icon JP Cali Smoov, who brings his lyrical firepower to "AR Lyrics." "Hip Hop Head is a collision between the pop culture of today and the music that raised me," says Cass. "Songs like 'Just Like Slim' explore the life of an Eminem superfan growing into adulthood and family, while tracks like 'My Algorithm' and 'Atomic Bomb' break down the madness of modern pop culture."
